My name is Khia and I am the Designer behind Xai Creative Co. (Xai- pronounced "sigh", as in a sigh of relief when you've found a good designer). My name is a nod to my Chinese/Vietnamese heritage, taken from the name of the city my dad is from, which means cotton tree. I love art, whether that be drawing, painting or even crafting with paper, and feel that has helped contribute to good results.
I use my heritage to inform a lot of my design decisions, being mixed race, I enjoy marrying different styles together from east and west and enjoy the collaboration that working with people's cultures and stories can bring to design to create something meaningful and unique. I feel design can really bring those stories to life in such fascinating ways.
Since graduating for my Diploma from Enmore Tafe I have worked as a freelancing designer, from full rebrands, to little animations, wedding invitations, logos and web design. I also work part time for TCA Marketing, managing socials and putting together advertising campaigns.
